adjusted between –15

°

C and –24

C.

The setting is adjusted in the same way as for the
refrigerator compartment, but using button (E).

(D).
The indicator starts at –15

°

C and progressively

goes down to –24

°

C, i.e. the temperature setting

gets colder and colder.
Here too, if the button is held in, the indicator will
start cycling again from –15

°

C.

temperature indicator (D) will show the letters SU

the fast freeze function.

hours

.

3. Place food to be frozen in the appropriate

compartment.

Storing ready-frozen food

Packs of ready-frozen food may be placed in any of
the drawers according to the space available. You
are strongly advised to place ready-frozen food in
the freezer compartment as quickly as possible
after purchase, so as to limit any rise in
temperature.

It is also advisable to check that external packaging
is intact: swollen packs or traces of re-frozen water
droplets on the pack are a sure sign that the product
has not always been kept at a suitably low
temperature and that it may have lost its original
quality.
Never exceed the storage times indicated on packs.
Do not open the freezer door too often and do not
leave open longer than necessary for loading or
removing food.
Never re-freeze partially thawed food. Food which
has accidentally thawed must be checked for smell,
taste and colour and, if these seem normal, must be
consumed within 24 hours or thoroughly cooked
before re-freezing.
A special card is located in the holder on the inner
door of the freezer compartment. At the top, there
are pictures of animals and various types of food,
followed by a figure. These figures indicate the
maximum storage time, from the date on which the
food was frozen.
Details of food being stored, can also be written in
pencil on the lower part of the card.

Thawing Food

Food can be thawed in various ways, depending on
the type of food, pack size and required use:
At room temperature. In the refrigerator
compartment of the appliance. In a convection (fan)
oven. In a microwawe oven. In a steam cooker.

Important

In the event of a power failure and the temperature
within your freezer rising above –6

°

C, do not re-

freeze the food without checking its condition. The
following guidelines should assist you.
Ice-cream: Once thawed should be discarded.
Fruits & vegetables: If soft should be cooked and
used up.
Breads & cake: Can be re-frozen without danger.
Shellfish: Should be refrigerated and used up
quickly.
Cooked dishes: i.e. casseroles: Should be
refrigerated and used up.
Large pieces of meat: Can be re-frozen providing
there are still ice crystals remaining within them.
Small joints: Should be cooked and can then be re-
frozen as cooked dishes.
Chicken: Should also be cooked and re-frozen as a
cooked dish.
