GETTING STARTED AND RUNNING THE ENCODER
This section gives step-by-step instructions on using the Z3-HE4K-01 to stream 2160p video to VLC media
player running on your PC. In addition to the Z3-HE4K-01, a 4K video source with HDMI output and a PC are
required.

Prepare the 4K Source

Set the video source to output 3840x2160 at 30fps and connect an HDMI1.4 cable to it.
-29.97, 25, 24 and 23.98fps also supported.

Connect the HDMI1.4 cable from your video source to “HDMI In” on the back of the unit.

Connect an Ethernet cable from “Ethernet” on the back of the unit to a switch, router or other DHCP
server on the same network as your Windows PC.
(4)
Connect the 12V power supply and turn on the power switch. It will take 45-60 seconds to boot. The
red power LED will turn on immediately. After about five seconds, both status LED’s will blink on and
off. When the right LED remains on, the unit is ready to encode.
*Note:
If the left LED is blinking, the encoder has auto-started and is currently encoding.
