7.2.2

J6 - FlexIO Connector

Connector J6 is a 30-pin header which can be configured by software (via FPGA configuration) to
accept video in one of many possible formats. In addition, J6 carries power, analog video input and
can implement camera configuration or device control interfaces.

All data pins on the FlexIO

connector, labeled “AUX” are driven

by an FPGA, providing enormous

flexibility in the possible interface types that can be implemented.

Most data pins are paired and labeled “P” and “N” so they can be used to implement differential

interfaces such as LVDS and Camera Link, but each can also be used as a single ended I/O line.

The connector also pr12V power and accepts one NTSC/PAL composite video input signal.

The connector placed is from JST, part number BM30B-SRDS-G-TF.

Connector J8 accepts NTSC, PAL or RS-170 video into the analog video interface, which terminates
into 75 Ohms. The jack is a standard MMCX female jack.
Please note that this connector is wired in parallel with J6 pin 8, so only one source of composite
video can be connected at any time.
