GETTING STARTED WITH THE FV2K-1XA
If you have received an FV2K-1XA assembly, you will need to connect it to the Sony FCB-EV7520A camera
block or a compatible LVDS camera. The Interface Front End PCB of the FV2K-1XA assembly (see
Fig 4
) has a
30-pin KEL connector that allows a flexible ribbon cable to be used to connect the encoder assembly to an
identical connector on the Sony FCB-EV7520.

Once received, the FV2K-1XA assembly will need to be connected to the Sony FCB-EV7520 HD camera
block and optional secondary camera with LVDS or Composite Out. The Interface Front End PCB of
the FV2K-1XA assembly (see Figure 5) has (2) 30-pin KEL connectors that allow a flexible ribbon cable
to be used to connect the encoder assembly to an identical connector on the Sony FCB-EV7250. The
first KEL connector, labeled “J5”, is used for Camera1. The second KEL connector, labeled “J7”, is
used for Camera2. Connect the primary Sony FCB-
EV7520 HD camera to “J5”. The second KEL
connector “J7” supports either a secondary Sony HD camera, or an infrared
LVDS camera (check with
Z3 for list of compatible IR cameras). The Composite secondary camera is connected to the FV2K-
