APPENDIX H Fiber Cleaver

H.1 General

The cleaver is a tool used for cleaving multiple and single stand
optical fibers. Fiber requirements and specifications are as
shown in Table H.1.

H.2 Operation(Refer to Figure H-1)

1. Open the bare fiber clamp.
2. Ensure the blade carrier is positioned towards the operator

side.

3.    Set the fiber holder into the fiber holder groove.
4.    Ensure the fibers do not cross one another.
5.    Close the bare fiber clamp.
6.    Slide the blade carrier to score the fiber(s).
7.    Press the cleaving button to cleave the fiber(s).
8.    Open the bare fiber clamp.
