SECTION 8 – TROUBLESHOOTING
TABLE 35 -
CHILLED WATER OVERCOOLING TROUBLESHOOTING
ITEM
CAUSE
COUNTERMEASURE
1
Chilled water flow rate drops or
changes suddenly.
Using a flow rate meter, check to see if the chilled water flow
rate changes suddenly (particularly in case of variable flow
rate specification). If it changes suddenly, apply a limit of the
change rate to the chilled water flow or remeasure.
2
Cooling water temperature at the inlet
changes suddenly.
Check if the cooling water at the inlet changes suddenly by
checking the start and stop of the fan. If the chilled water
temperature is low, the chiller-heater stops immediately. It does
not enter the dilution process. If left as is, the solution may
crystallize within 4-5 hours. To prevent this, dilute the solution
according to the instruction shown in
Blowdown and Dilution Method on page 93
.
3
Load drops suddenly.
Check if the load changes suddenly. (Chilled Leaving Setpoint
and Chilled Water Temperature fluctuates rapidly).
4
The refrigerant is dirty or contains
solution.
Check if the refrigerant refining procedure has been performed
recently. See
Refrigerant Refining Method on page 120
for
more information.
5
Heat exchange tube is dirty (chilled
water).
Contact your local Johnson Controls Service Center.
6
Temperature controller or safety switch
is broken.
TABLE 36 -
COMMUNICATION ERRORS
ITEM
CAUSE
COUNTERMEASURE
1
Communication between the touch
panel and the temperature controller is
not established.
• Check the communication cable between the touch panel
and the temperature controller.
• Contact your local Johnson Controls Service Center.
2
There is a control sensor fault. The
chilled / hot water outlet temperature,
refrigerant temperature, cooling water
inlet temperature, HG (XG) solution
temperature, HT-HEX solution outlet
temperature, engine waste exhaust
gas inlet temp, engine waste exhaust
gas outlet temp and/or the HG (XG)
pressure shows an abnormal valve.
• Tighten the terminals in the control panel.
• Contact your local Johnson Controls Service Center.
3
There is a recording sensor
abnormality. The chilled / hot water
inlet temperature, cooling water
outlet temperature and/or absorber
temperature shows an abnormal value.
4
RS485 communication (option) was not
done.
5
The remote setting signal (4~20 mA)
was abnormal during the remote chilled
/ hot water outlet temperature setting
mode.
