NOTES:
1. Chilled / hot water and cooling water systems should be drained completely. Dry by nitrogen blow. Pressurize with nitrogen. Depending on
the water quality, hard scale may be fixed on the inside surface of tubes by drying. It can be removed only by chemical cleaning. For more
than 1 year’s storage, after cleaning the tubes, drain them completely. Dry them by nitrogen blow. Pressurize them with nitrogen and leave
as is.
2. If the storage period exceeds 6 months, apply pressure at 0.01~0.02 Mpa with nitrogen inside the shells. Check pressure at least once a
week to confirm that it does not drop.
3. The manual valve on the purge piping should be fully closed (See
STORAGE METHOD OF THE COOLING
WATER DURING HEATING OPERATION
PERIOD
Do NOT operate the cooling water pump during opera-
tion in heating mode.
Treat the cooling water in the Absorber and Condenser
tubes during the heating operation using one of the fol-
lowing two methods.
Wet Storage
This method of storage leaves water in the tubes. It is
applicable to indoor installations.
Condition around the chiller-heater:
• During the heating operation period, there is no
concern about the cooling water freezing. If there
is concern of freezing, apply insulation to the
cooling water piping.
• The cooling tower must be installed at a higher
level than the chiller-heater. If not, the high tem-
perature water could flow into the cooling tower.
• A lining pipe is not used for the cooling water pip-
ing system. If you use the lining pipe, use a heat
-resistant lining pipe.
Cooling water temperature can be as high
as approximately 80 °C due to the residual
heat during heating operation. Be careful
of burns when handling the water drain
valves, etc.
With the increased cooling water tem-
perature, the volume of the cooling water
expands. Therefore, be sure to slightly
open the valve at the cooling water outlet
side of the chiller-heater.
