Setting the Record Length

For a description of this function, refer to page 1-12.

Function
The record length sets the amount of data to be written into the acquisition memory. Maximum
length depends upon the machine model. Available length settings are as follows.
16M/CH models (/M3)
: 1 k, 10 k, 40 k, 100 k, 200 k, 400 k, 1 M, 2 M, 4 M, 8 M, 16 M,
32 M
*2
, 64 M
*1
8M/CH models (/M2)
: 1 k, 10 k, 40 k, 100 k, 200 k, 400 k, 1 M, 2 M, 4 M, 8 M, 16M
*2
,
32 M

2M/CH models (/M1)
: 1 k, 10 k, 40 k, 100 k, 200 k, 400 k, 1 M, 2 M, 4 M

, 8 M

200k/CH models (Standard)
: 1 k, 10 k, 40 k, 100 k, 200 k, 400 k

*1 Selecting this record length limits the channels that can be used to CH1, CH5, CH9, and CH13.
*2 Selecting this record length limits the channels that can be used to CH1, CH3, CH5, CH7, CH9, CH11,
CH13, and CH15.
The maximum record length during the averaging mode differs from the values shown above.
For details, see section 7.2 “Acquisition Mode.”
Setting precautions
• Increasing the record length automatically limits the number of channels that can be used.
The display of the channels which can no longer be used because the record length is
increased can not be turned ON/OFF.
The number of channels that can be used is displayed on the soft key menu of “Record
Length.” The channels that can be used are as follows.
Record Length(16CH)
: CH1 to CH16 can be used
Record Length(8CH)
: CH1, CH3, CH5, CH7, CH9, CH11, CH13, and CH15 can be used
Record Length(4CH)
: CH1, CH5, CH9, and CH13 can be used
• Sampling rate and displayed record length vary according to the T/div setting.
For details, see Appendix 1.
• If the maximum acquisition count is set to 1 ( refer to the appendix 2), a signal may not be
captured with the assigned full record length depending on timing of acquisition Stop. In
order to capture a signal with full record length, use “Single Start” or “Log Start.”
• Set the record length to Record Length (16CH) when using the 32-bit extended logic input (/
N1) option.
Operating Procedure
1.
Press the
ACQ
key.
2.
Press the “
Record Length
” soft key to set the jog shuttle action to Record Length.
3.
Select the length by turning the jog shuttle.
