3.6  Alignment Adjustment

 WARNING

The instrument has a built-in reference light source for wavelength calibration, and 
infrared light is always being output from the optical output connector. Never look 
into the optical output connector. Infrared light entering the eyes can cause severe 
injury and loss of vision.

Procedure

Adjusting Alignment Using the Built-in Reference Light Source (when the built-

in light source specification is -L1)

1.

  Turn the power to the instrument ON. Turn ON the 

MAIN POWER 

switch and 

press the 

POWER 

switch. For instructions on turning the power ON and OFF, see 

section 3.4. 

2.

  Use a 9.5/125 µm SM optical fiber to connect the instrument’s optical input 

connector with the optical output connector.

 Press 

SYSTEM

  Press the 

OPTICAL ALIGNMENT 

soft key. 

 

 

   

5.

  Press the 

EXECUTE

 soft key. Alignment adjustment is automatically executed. 

Adjustment finishes a few minutes thereafter, and you are returned to the original 
screen. 

6.

  Press the 

CANCEL

 soft key to cancel alignment adjustment partway through the 

process.
