12.1 If a Problem Occurs
Dealing with Unusual Circumstances
• If a message appears on the screen, see the following pages for reference.
• If servicing is necessary or this instrument does not operate properly even after you have attempted
to deal with the problem according to the instructions in this section, contact your nearest
YOKOGAWA dealer.

Even when the power is
on, nothing appears on
the screen.
If you are using an AC adapter, make sure that the plug is connected firmly to the outlet,
the power cord is connected firmly to the AC adapter, and the AC adapter’s DC plug is
connected firmly to this instrument.

If you are using a battery pack, make sure that it is attached firmly.

Charge the battery pack, and make sure that the ON lamp is illuminated.

The LCD turns black at high temperatures. At low temperatures, its display speed becomes
slower. Make sure that the temperature of the area where you are using this instrument is
within the operating temperature range.

The display disappears
after time passes.
This instrument turns off automatically when its battery is low. Check the remaining battery
power.

If you have specified a time for the Power Save setting, this instrument will turn off
automatically if no operations have been performed for the specified time. Check the
settings.

The screen is dark.
The screen is dark when the LCD Brightness setting is set to “Power save.” Check the
settings.

The LCD may be worn out. Servicing is required.

When the temperature of this instrument or its battery pack is high, this instrument lowers
the LCD brightness automatically to prevent damage. Make sure that the temperature of
the area where you are using this instrument is within the operating temperature range.

The power turns off
automatically while this
instrument is being used.
This instrument turns off automatically when it detects an error. A warning message will
appear when this happens. Read the message. Fix the problem indicated in the message,
and then turn on this instrument.

The battery pack cannot
be charged.
The battery pack temperature may be too low or too high. Make sure that the temperature
of the area where you are using this instrument is within the operating temperature range.
Remove the battery pack from this instrument and let it sit for awhile in a room temperature
environment.

The battery pack may be reaching the end of its life expectancy. Replace it with a new
one.

The power turns off

instrument is starting.
You may have accidentally pressed the power switch twice.
