Switch Settings
This section describes how to set the DIP switch and rotary switches.
DIP Switch (Operation Settings)
Use the DIP switch to set the operation of the GW3100 when the power supply is turned ON.
Note:Any changes to the settings of the DIP switch are ignored after the power supply is turned ON.
The switch settings are read only when the GW3100 starts.
The DIP switch pin specifications are given in the following table.
Rotary Switches (Address Setting)
Use these switches to set the GW3100 station address (03 to EF hex) as a MECHATROLINK-III
slave.
The numbers that you set are converted to a hexadecimal number between 03 and EF. Set the
arrows toward the desired numbers, setting the upper digit on the top rotary switch (x16
1
) and
the lower digit on the bottom rotary switch (x16

If the INIT pin is ON, the parameters are returned to the
default settings at startup. However, the settings that are
written in the non-volatile memory are not changed. If you
start the Gateway Unit with the INIT pin turned ON and
then press the SAVE switch, the settings in non-volatile
memory will be initialized to the default values.
