Configuration
To use the GW3100, you must set the GW3100 functions and set the configurations and map-
pings for the M-II slave devices, and then you must save that information in the flash memory
inside the GW3100.
You can use either of the following two methods.
•
Configuration with the Configuration Tool
•
Configuration with M-III Commands
These methods are described below.
5.4.1
Configuration with the Configuration Tool
You can use the Gateway Configuration Tool running on a host PC. You connect the PC on
which the Configuration Tool is installed to the PC with a USB cable. The Configuration Tool
provides the following functions.
•
M-III port communications settings: Editing and checking
•
M-II port communications settings: Editing and checking
•
M-II slave device mapping: Editing and checking
•
Saving to flash memory
5.4.2
Configuration with M-III Commands
The gateway configuration parameters are mapped in M-III virtual address space.
You can use the Read Parameter (PRM_RD) or Write Parameter (PRM_WR) M-III command to
edit the parameters and then press the SAVE switch on the GW3100 to save the information in
flash memory.
