CAMSHAFT AND ROCKER ARMS

REMOVING THE ROCKER ARMS AND
CAMSHAFT

1. Straighten the lock plate tabs

2. Remove:

• lock plate

• camshaft retainer

3. Remove:

• camshaft

NOTE:

Screw a 10 mm bolt

into the threaded end

of the camshaft, and then pull the camshaft
out.

4. Remove:

• intake rocker arm shaft
• exhaust rocker arm shaft
• rocker arms

NOTE:

Remove the rocker arm shafts with the slide
hammer bolt

and weight

Slide hammer bolt

CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT

1. Check:

• camshaft lobes

Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches

→

Replace the camshaft.
