If the steering load is too heavy (i.e., exces-
sive steering use when the snowmobile is
traveling at a slow speed), the power assist is
reduced to protect the EPS motor from over-
heating.

Self-diagnosis device
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis
device for various electrical circuits.
If a problem is detected in any of those cir-
cuits, the warning light and the engine trouble
warning indicator flash, and an error code
displays in the meter display. Note the error
code, and then have a Yamaha dealer in-
spect the snowmobile as soon as possible.
NOTICE:
Do not continue to operate the
engine longer than necessary if there is an
error code to avoid possible engine dam-
age.

Engine stop switch “ ”
The engine stop switch is used to stop the
engine in an emergency. Simply push the
stop switch to stop the engine. To start the
engine, pull the stop switch and proceed with
starting the engine. (See page 37 for engine
starting procedures.)
During the first few rides, practice using the
stop switch so that you can react quickly in
an emergency.

Headlight beam switch
“LIGHTS”
Push the headlight beam switch to change
the headlight to high beam “HI” or to low
beam “LO”.
