Once you have stationed your iPod in a YAMAHA iPod universal dock (such as YDS-10 sold separately) connected to
the DOCK terminal of this unit (see page 22), you can enjoy playback of your iPod using the supplied remote control.
You can also use the Compressed Music Enhancer mode of this unit to improve the sound quality of the compression
artifacts (such as the MP3 format) stored on your iPod (see page 36).
• Only iPod (Click and Wheel), iPod nano, and iPod mini are supported.
• Compatibility with your iPod may vary depending on the software version of your iPod.
• The controls on your iPod are not operational when you operate your iPod using the OSD of this unit.
• There are some characters that cannot be displayed in the front panel or in the OSD of this unit.
• The name of the song being played appears in the front panel display up to 14 alphanumeric characters.

You need to first assign the remote control code to V-AUX
on the remote control to control your iPod when “V-AUX”
is selected as the input source.

Press V-AUX on the remote control to select
“V-AUX” as the input source.

Press CODE SET on the remote control using
a ball point pen or a similar object.
The TRANSMIT indicator on the remote control
flashes twice.

Press the numeric buttons to enter the code
number “81981”.
The TRANSMIT indicator on the remote control
flashes twice, and the remote control code for V-AUX
is set.
Once the remote control code is assigned to V-AUX on the
remote control, you can control your iPod when “V-AUX”
is selected as the input source. The operations of your iPod
can be done with or without the aid of the OSD of this
unit.

Controlling iPod without using the OSD
Once “V-AUX” is selected as the input source, you can
perform the basic operations of your iPod (see page 91)
using the supplied remote control without the aid of the
OSD of this unit.
Operations can be also done with the controls on your iPod.
