CAUTION:

Disconnect the oil level switch coupler before
removing the oil level gauge. Otherwise the
lead can twist and become severed.

5. Remove the oil level gauge

, wipe it clean,

insert it back into the filler hole (without screw-
ing it in), and then remove it again to check the
oil level.

NOTE:

The engine oil should be between the “H” 

a

 and

“L” 

b

 level marks on the oil level gauge.

6. If the engine oil is below the “L” level mark, add

sufficient oil of the recommended type to raise it
to the “H” level mark.

CAUTION:

• When adding the engine oil, be careful not to

fill above the “H” level mark on the oil level
gauge.

• Make sure that no foreign material enters the

engine oil tank.

7. Insert the oil level gauge into the oil filler hole,

and then tighten it securely.

8. Connect the oil level switch coupler.
9. Install the right side cover. Refer to “SHROUD

AND COVERS”
