Setting the HDMI audio
When you connect the DVD receiver to an HDMI
compatible component via the HDMI terminal, set the
HDMI audio output to match the connected component.
For details about the relationship between the audio
format and the setting, see “HDMI audio output” on
page 16.

highlight [HDMI AUDIO OUT], then press

AUTO
Select this to set the DVD receiver to the best setting
automatically based on the component you have
connected via the HDMI terminal.
PCM
Select this to output the decoded multichannel or 2-
channel PCM audio signals via the HDMI terminal.
OFF
Select this to turn off the HDMI audio output.

to select a setting and press
ENTER
to confirm.
If the monitor/receiver connected to the DVD receiver
using HDMI does not support HDMI audio signal
input, set this setting to [OFF].
Speaker setup
This menu contains setup options for audio output so that
you can set your speakers to reproduce high quality
surround sound.
CD upsampling
This feature allows you to convert your music CD to a
higher sampling rate using sophisticated digital signal
processing for better sound quality.
When the CD upsampling function is activated (or a
disc recorded at the sampling rate of 96 kHz is played
back), the music enhancer function is not available.

Select this to disable CD-upsampling.
88.2 kHz (X2)
Select this to convert the sampling rate of CDs to
twice that of the original.

Lip synchronization
This feature allows you to delay the sound output from the
front speakers in order to synchronize it with the video
image. This may be necessary when using certain LCD
monitors or projectors.
