Copy Procedure
1 . Press Tra ck N o [UP/ DO W N ] to select the tra ck to
w hich you w a nt to copy Free EG da ta to
(destina tion).
2 . Press Copy [UP/ DO W N ] to select the tra ck from
w hich you w a nt to copy Free EG da ta (source).
The Co py o peratio n is co mpleted.
W hen the “ Cpy fm” (Co py fro m) pag e is displayed in the
LCD, yo u can press Co py [UP/ DO W N ] to select a track fro m
either the current vo ice o r fro m ano ther vo ice. As yo u select a
track, yo u can play the keybo ard to hear ho w the new Free
EG data affects the vo ice.
W hen the new track number is selected (step 2 ), the co py
o peratio n is co mpleted.
There is no specific copy confirmation function, but you can retrieve the
original track Free EG data using the Undo function.
Remember that Free EG data consists of knob movement data and not actual
parameter values. This means that the parameter controlled can be anything
you set for the Track Number using the Param setting.

The Undo functio n lets yo u “ undo ” as well as “ redo ”
the mo st previo us Free EG co py o r reco rd o peratio n.
After a co py o r reco rd o peratio n, simply press Undo
(/ Redo ) [UP/ DO W N ] to to g g le back and fo rth
between the new data and the o rig inal data.
Free EG Recording Procedure
1 . Press the Rec [UP/ DO W N ] sw itch a nd enter
Record Sta ndby (Tra ck or All) mode.
In Record Standby mode, Length and Track Number parameters are available,
but others cannot be accessed. ( Also, MIDI control will be ineffective.)
In Record Standby mode or during recording, you can stop the record operation
by turning the [ EDIT ROTARY] switch, and return to the REC OFF status.
If you want to record in the selected track, choose REC STBY Trk. If you want
to record in all four tracks, choose REC STBY All.
2 . Cha nge the Free EG Length (see pa ge 8 2 ), or
select a Tra ck N umber for the selected
Pa ra meter (see pa ge 8 3 ).
W hen the Leng th parameter is set to " bar" , the leng th is
determined by the Tempo setting , and a click will so und (in
quarter-no te beats) to use as a timing g uide.
3 . W hen you press a k ey on the k eyboa rd,
recording w ill begin, so you ca n sta rt moving
the k nob (or k nobs) a s desired.
Recording time is visually displayed by the horizontal data graph in the LCD.
When the KNOB PARAMETER GROUP [ ASSIGN] switch is selected, knob
movements will not be recorded in the track.
In step 1 , abo ve, if REC STBY Trk is selected, the kno b mo st
recently mo ved is already desig nated as available fo r
reco rding . If REC STBY All is selected, the fo ur mo st recently
mo ved kno bs are already desig nated as available fo r
reco rding .
When you start recording the Free EG, the currently selected Scene will be
automatically assigned to the Scene Switch ( for the selected track) , and the
parameter of the first knob you move will be assigned to track Parameter ( i.e.,
that parameter will be recorded in the track) . This is convenient for initiating a
Free EG recording immediately, without making all settings beforehand.
When Scene Control is activated, setting the Free EG to Record Standby mode
automatically selects Scene 1 .
4 . Recording a utoma tica lly stops w hen the end of
the set Length is rea ched.
