7.3 Cable cross-sections and cable lengths
● The maximum permitted cable lengths between the frequency converter and the
motor for the standard insulation of the motors (1500 V peak and 3500 V/µs) are 20
m for a nominal motor voltage of up to 480 V.
● For higher nominal voltages and longer cable lengths, install a dU/dt filter or sine filter
between the frequency converter and the motor and design the wire cross-sections
for a maximum voltage drop of 2.5%.
