Service Menu
To access the service menu, press and hold [A=B] + [A/B] + [FAST] buttons, then press [POWER] and
hold.
Check Firmware Versions
Press and hold [A=B] + [A/B] buttons, then press [POWER] and hold.
DSP Firmware Update
1. Power off FT-991. Remove all cables.
2. Plug in USB cable and power cable.
3. Turn power supply on.
4. Press and hold [F(M-LIST)] + [MENU(SETUP)] + [BAND] then press [POWER] and hold. Green
indicator light under MEM turns on. Release buttons.
5. Execute firmware update software.
6. Press [POWER] button, turning the FT-991 off.
TFT Firmware Update
1. Power off FT-991. Remove all cables.
2. Plug in USB cable and power cable.
3. Turn power supply on.
4. Press and hold [F(M-LIST)] + [BAND] + [MODE] then press [POWER] and hold. Red indicator
light under VFO-A turns on. Release buttons.
5. Execute firmware update software.
6. Press [POWER] button, turning the FT-991 off.
