To SCAN the channels in memory, push the SCAN button on the side you
wish to scan. You may also push and hold the UP - DOWN buttons on the
icrophone to start scanning.
If you wish to skip over a memory channel while scanning, you must have
the channel displayed. Push the "SET" button to access the menu. Rotate
the dial to item #37. "SKPMSM". Push the main dial on the side of the
radio you are working with, and rotate to "SKIP". Push the "SET" button
twice to get back to the memory channels. Note that it says SKIP to the
right of the memory number. Repeat the process to remove SKIP, except
choose "OFF" instead of SKIP.
MEMORY BANKS
The FT 8800 has 10 memory banks for wach side of the radio. To
enter a memory channel into a bank, you must first be you must first
be able to look at all the memory channels available. This is called
"ALLMEM".
Push and HOLD the V/M button on the side of the radio where
"MAIN" is displayed. "ALLMEM" should appear. Push the SET
button. Rotate the main dial until the memory channel you wish to
put into a particular bank appears. Again, push and HOLD the V/M
button ALLMEM appears. Roate the main dial to the selected bank.
Momentarily push the SET button, and that channel is now in the
desired desired bank.
Remember you may place a memory channel in as many banks as
you wish. When you select a bank, and then use the scan function,
only the memory channels in that bank will be scanned, provided you
do not have the set up to SKIP.
