7.1 Alarm levels and handling
For most monitoring channels, the base unit uses two levels of alarms, A, and B. These
alarm levels are available in the Setup mode:
Alarm level
Description
A
It shows a serious condition. The Go interlock relay opens to stop the pump, the A alarm relay
switches and the indications light up red.
B
It shows a less serious condition or is used as a warning level. The pump continues to run, the B
alarm relay switches and the indications light up yellow.
Alarm items that are marked with light blue are linked to a plot function that shows
measurements up to and around the time of the alarm. The plot function allows the
analysis of the sequence of events.
An active alarm in the Active alarms list is a currently active alarm.
A new alarm appears as a flashing LED on the operator panel. When an active alarm is
reset, then it turns into a fixed light to indicate that it is acknowledged. When the fault is
corrected and the condition returns to normal, a repeated reset terminates the alarm
indications and set relays to their normal status.
For each alarm in the Alarm and event log list, this is the data that all the channels get:
• Nine minutes before the alarm and one minute after, with a one second resolution
• Four hours before the alarm and with a one minute resolution
An email can be sent to four recipients when an alarm occurs.
