Thank you for purchasing Xit 404’s Nikon 60mm Focus Ring to use with
our Turtle Gears. On the back is our warranty information to help you
prolong the life of this product.
This product is in our Turtle Line. The advantage of the Turtle Line of
Focus/Zoom Rings and Gears is that the parts are interchangeable. For
example the Turtle Gear fits on all Turtle Focus/Zoom Rings as well as
our Turtle Teleconverter Extension Rings. This allows you to purchase one
gear that mates with a variety of lenses.
Assembling the Focus Ring to your Turtle Gear
Look at the drawing to the left and note which end of the lens the Focus
Ring slides onto. Then follow the instructions below.
1. Make sure your Focus Ring is in the unlocked position. Slide the Focus
Ring onto your lens from the front until it stops.
2. Once on the lens, grasp the Focus Ring, then press and hold the gray
latch on the Focus Ring while twisting the gray and red rings in opposite
directions until the white dots line up. (Note: the locked icon). The Focus
Ring is now locked onto the lens.
3. Slide the Turtle Gear on from the back of the lens. Align the white dot on
the Turtle Gear with the unpainted red dot on the Focus Ring. Then press
the two parts together. Once the the two parts are fully mated twist the
Turtle Gear until the white dots line up. (Note: the locked icon). The Turtle
Gear is now locked onto the Focus Ring.
Disassembling the Focus Ring
1. Remove the Turtle Gear by pressing and holding the red latch on the
Gear. Then twist it until the white dot on the Gear is lined up with
unpainted red dot on the Focus Ring. (Note: the unlocked icon).
2. Pull the Turtle Gear off the lens.
3. Remove the Focus Ring by pressing and holding the gray latch on the
Focus Ring. Then twist it until the white dot is lined up with the unpainted
red dot on the Focus Ring. (Note: the unlocked icon).
4. Pull the Focus Ring off the lens.
