Xerox WorkCentre 450c/450cp Service Manual

Firmware Updates

From time to time Xerox will issue
firmware updates for the WorkCentre
450c/450cp.

To update the firmware, the WorkCentre
must be attached to a PC through the
supplied IEEE 1284 printer cable. Also,
the PC must be in DOS mode, not in a
DOS shell window.

Firmware updates are supplied on floppy
disk. To begin the update procedure, do
the following:

1. Make sure the WorkCentre is

powered on and has passed the
power-on system test.

2. Prepare the WorkCentre to receive

the first part of the new firmware.
At the control panel type:

MENU, 5, ENTER, 9, ENTER, 3,
ENTER, 1, ENTER.

3. At the

Update firmware?

prompt, press

ENTER

to begin.

4. At the prompt

Ready to receive

file from PC

, insert the floppy

disk in the PC floppy disk drive.

5. Run the batch file that begins the

firmware download. See the
instructions on the diskette label.

6. Follow the prompts on the

computer screen until the
download is complete.
