Adding a Device for Print Line Selection
If the devices you need for a print line definition are not listed in the Device menu on
the Paper Path sub-tab, you can add them using the Devices sub-tab.
1. In the Definitions view, select the Print Line tab and then the Devices sub-tab.
2. Select the New icon.
3. From the Device Type menu, select the device you want to add.
The selected device name appears on the Device Type menu.
Note
A red asterisk appears on the Device menu to indicate a device is being added. This
asterisk remains in place until you save the save the new device.
4. Select the PLB Address (Hex) button.
The PLB Address number pad opens.
5. Type or select the PLB address for the new device.
Note
The PLB address is located on the back of each PLB box connected to the device.
Please contact your Xerox analyst if you are not sure what to enter.
6. Select OK.
The PLB address for the new device appears on the PLB Address button.
7. If applicable, type or select the serial number for the new device.
8. Select the Save icon.
The Save Device window opens.
9. Select the Enter Name field.
The Value window opens.
10. Type or select the name for the new device.
11. Select Enter.
The Save Device window displays with the new device name in the Enter Name field.
12. Select OK.
The new device name appears on the Device menu.
Note
See the Device Summary area to confirm your selections for the device name, device
type, and the PLB address.
13. To verify that the new device is available to include in a print line, select the Paper
Path sub-tab and select the Device menu.
The new device appears in the list of devices.
