• Occasionally it is possible for a mark which appears to be valid on the CiPress
™
UI to
lead to a Pattern Form Length mismatch fault if the white space is not within the
imageable area.
Tip
Allow for 0.0118 inch / 0.3 mm of white space plus expected paper measurement
error when placing the ROF mark near the edge erase. Use a 0.0118 inch / 0.3 mm
buffer on the outboard / front edge, and a 0.0315 inch / 0.8 mm buffer on the inboard
/ rear edge.
• A tandem mark fault can be declared on the secondary / downstream CiPress
™
based
on the secondary width measurements, even though this CiPress
™
never prints the
mark.
Creating a New Application Definition
Remember that only Advanced Operators and Key Operators can create and maintain
application definitions. Operators do not have access to the standard definition controls
for applications.
1. In the Definitions view, select the Application tab and then the Main sub-tab.
2. Select the New icon.
The name on the Application menu changes to [New].
3. For Paper Feed, select Pinfeed Only, Pinless Only, or leave the Any Feed default
setting. Any Feed covers both options.
Note
A red asterisk appears on the Application menu to indicate an application definition
is being created or modified. This asterisk remains in place until you save the
application definition.
4. To define an offset for situations where the image will reside on the frame:
a) For the Edge Distance values for Front Side Offset and Back Side Offset, select
either Inch or MM for the measurement unit.
b) Select the Front Side Offset Edge Distance field.
The Edge Distance number pad opens.
Note
For incremental changes, use the + or - buttons to set the value instead of selecting
the field.
c) Type or enter the numerical value for the distance of the image from the paper
edge and select OK.
The number pad closes and the new value displays in the Front Side Offset Edge
Distance field.
d) Select the Back Side Offset Edge Distance field.
