Set the S/MINE information.
1) Select [PKI Settings (Public Key)].
2) Select [S/MIME Settings] and set the following items.
z Device Certificate - S/MINE
Link a certificate to the machine. For information about creating a certificate, refer to
"HTTP" (P.75).
z S/MINE Communication
Set whether enable or disable S/MINE Communication when a certificate ID is set.
z Receive Untrusted E-mail
Set whether receive untrusted E-mail or not.
z Message Digest Algorithm
Select a message digest algorithm from [SHA1] or [MD5].
z Contents Encryption Method
Select a contents encryption method from Åm3DESÅn, ÅmRC2-40Ån, ÅmRC2-
64Ån, or ÅmRC2-128Ån.
z Digital Signature - Outgoing E-mail
Set whether always attach a digital signature to E-mail or select a digital signature
when sending E-mail.
z Certificate Auto Store
Select whether or not automatically store a S/MIME certificate attached with the E-
mail when receiving E-mail sent from an address registered in the address book.

Select [Close] repeatedly until the [System Settings] screen is displayed.

Select [Exit].

After the machine is restarted, print a settings list to confirm that each item is
configured.
