6 Trigger functionality
The functionality and user interface described below may change without
notice.
Introduction
The Wildcat is equipped with a multi-functional trigger input and output system.
The trigger engine controls the generation of frames and can only be used when acquisition
is enabled. These triggers can be generated either internally in the camera or from the two
external trigger inputs.
The camera can also output trigger signals on its 2 digital output channels.
All trigger controls can be found in the
Settings
– Camera
tab in Xeneth. The corresponding
camera registers may be found in Chapter 9.1.1 for trigger inputs and Chapter 9.1.2 for
digital outputs.
See Chapter 4.1.2 for electrical characteristics of the external trigger signals.
Trigger input
Trigger sources
The trigger engine can use 3 different trigger modes:
•
Free running trigger: internal triggers will be generated at regular time intervals.
•
External trigger: an electrical trigger signal coming from an external trigger source.
•
Software trigger: a trigger can be generated by sending a command to the module.
