4-3 Crane settings
4-2-2 Crane operation plan
4-3-1 Crane supporting conditions
4-2-3 Faults and accidents report
The operation plan is an important
-----
prerequisite for safe and reliable operation of the
crane. The crane operation plan should ensure
safe operation and full consideration of various
risk factors. Plans shall be made by experienced
managers. If for repetitive or routine operations,
the program can only be firstly developed, and
then be conducted periodically review to ensure
no changed factors.
The plan should include the following:
a. Load characteristics and lifting method;
b. Crane should be ensured that the working
space complied with the relevant provisions
is maintained between the load and the crane
structure;
c. When determining the crane lifting the
load quality, it should include the lifting appliance
quality;
d. Crane and the load positions in the whole
operation;
e. The crane operation site should consider
the possible risk factors, the actual operation space
environment and the land suitability;
f. Mounting and dismounting required for
crane;
g. When the operation site exists or appears
unsuitable environment conditions for the
operation, stop the operation.
The crane settings should mainly consider the
following factors affecting its safety operation:
a. Crane supporting conditions;
b. Other risk factors of
fi
eld and nearby;
c. Wind effects on working and non-working
state;
d. Provided with channels of settings on
construction site or crane installation as well
as dismounting and removing the crane after
fi
nishing the crane operation.
1. Crane operation site should satisfy
requirements as follows:
a . G u a r a n t e e t h e s u p p o r t i n g p o i n t (
outrigger plate ) can reach stated position in the
rated crane capacity table;
b. Each action (for example: slewing,
lifting, luffing etc.) is not blocked by any
obstacles.
c. Crane should be supported on solid and
horizontal support plane, and the operation site
should not sink, otherwise it will lead to the
crane overturning.
d. The inclination of complete crane is in
the range of one degree, if necessary, the pad
plate or mat wood are put beneath the foot plate,
otherwise tipping risks will happen.
2. Operation on slopes or ditches
Crane should not be supported on the
location near slopes or ditches places, if the
operation must be there, a certain safe distance
from the crane should kept according to the
geology, and the safe distance depends on the
soil type.
The safety distance must be counted
---
starting from the groove bottom, and the
minimum safety distance D can be determined
by measuring the trench depth T, at the same
time, basing on the speci
fi
c circumstance case.
Assignment personnel shall ensure the
persisting and effective faults and accidents report
system. The system should include informing
assignment personnel, recording faults removing
results and permission procedures of the crane
once again being put into use. The system
also includes instantaneous notification of the
following conditions:
a. Daily check or periodically inspect found
faults;
b. Found faults at other time;
c. Incidents or accidents regardless of the
severity;
d. Overload conditions regardless of the
causes;
e. Found risks or accidents report.
