Using A Generator As Source Power
The Tru can be run from a regular power source or from an
alternate power source such as a generator. Refer to
for AC input draw to determine the size of generator you
need.
Many generators provide output voltage that is modified sine wave
(MSW) rather than the true sine wave (TSW) that your utility provides.
Xantrex does not recommend the use of Tru with MSW
generators due to increased heating of the charger.
Indicator Light Activity On The Front Panel
Indicator light activity shows what is happening during the charging
process and is also helpful in troubleshooting. Refer to
“Maintenance and Troubleshooting”
for more information about
interpreting indicator lights.
During the charging process, indicator lights are interpreted as follows:
Activity
Charger status
Charging indicator light is
lit
The unit is charging in bulk or absorption
mode
Both Ready and Charging
indicator lights illuminate
The unit is performing the pre-equalization
absorption charge or is performing the
equalization charge.
