6.4 Troubleshooting
The IQ S
ENSOR

ET
uses the MIQ/MC2 to provide an Ethernet inter
-
face for connecting the IQ S
ENSOR
N
ET
to private networks, company
networks and public networks.
To establish accessibilty of the IQ S
ENSOR
N
ET
in a public network (e.g.
Internet), external services (e.g. Internet access, fixed public IP
address etc.) are required.
A detailed error analysis for connection errors is not possible within the
scope of the IQ S
ENSOR
N
ET
operating manual because of the multi
-
tude of service providers, network architectures and connection options
involved.
Here is a selection of possible causes for network/connection prob
-
lems. If there are other connection problems, contact your network
administrator or a network specialist.
No network connection
Cause Remedy
– Ethernet hardware defective,
e. g.
– Ethernet cable defective
– Ethernet connection to MIQ/
MC2 or router defective
– Open the MIQ/MC2 and
check the red Ethernet LED.
– The red Ethernet LED is
not illuminated (hardware
defective):
Use other hardware,
e. g.: Ethernet cable,
Ethernet socket on the
router, router
– The red Ethernet LED is
illuminated (hardware
OK):
check for other errors
(see below)
– Incorrect network address
entered in the LAN (name)
– Enter the correct name:
"device name-serial num-
ber", replace special charac-
ters (/, empty spaces etc.)
with "-",
e.g. MIQ-MC2-12250001
– Ascertain or define the cor-
rect IP address of the con-
troller in the local network
