Appendix C. 

RSM-8R4-DCM Mounting Options

RSM-8R4-1-DCM and RSM-8R4-2-DCM models offer a variety of different mounting 
options to fit the requirements of almost any application.  In addition to the standard 
Wall Mount brackets included with the unit, RSM-8R4-DCM models can also be 
mounted in a 19" equipment rack using the optional "L" brackets or mounted to a DIN 
rail using the optional DIN brackets.

C.1  Wall Mounting

The standard Wall Mount brackets, included with the unit can be used to mount the 
RSM-8R4-DCM to a wall, ceiling, floor, desktop or other flat surface.

The Wall Mount brackets can be used to mount the RSM-8R4-DCM on almost any 
flat surface, with the front panel facing upwards, downwards or perpendicular to the 
mounting surface.

Front Panel Facing Upwards:

  Use the screws provided with the mounting kit to 

secure the wall mount brackets to the RSM-8R4-DCM unit as shown in Figure C.1.  
Use six screws per mounting bracket as shown.

• 

Front Panel Facing Downwards:

  Use the screws provided to secure the wall 

mount brackets to the RSM-8R4-DCM.  In this configuration, the mounting brackets 
should be secured to the RSM-8R4-DCM with the mounting "ears" aligned with the 
bottom of the unit, facing outwards.  Use six screws per mounting bracket.

Front Panel Facing Outwards:

  In this configuration, the mounting brackets should 

be secured to the RSM-8R4-DCM with the mounting "ears" aligned with the back of 
the unit, facing outwards.  Four screws are used to secure each wall mount bracket 
to the RSM-8R4-DCM unit.  When mounting each bracket to the sides of the  
RSM-8R4-DCM, use the four screw holes that are located closest to the rear of  
the unit.
