This section covers all possible inputs/outputs supported. Your
application may not require all of this I/O. Refer to the drawing
packet provided for your exact I/O availability and designations.
CONTROL STOP Input
When this input is de-activated, the control aborts the present
schedule and will not initiate another schedule until the
input becomes activated. The isolation contactor also drops
out (to disable weld current). A CONTROL STOP fault
condition is generated.
Attempting to initiate a weld when this input is inactive will
activate a CONTROL STOP Fault and de-activate the NO
FAULT Output.
ISOLATION CONTACTOR Input
This is an input to the weld control enclosure, showing
whether the isolation contactor is open or closed. It is
normally open.
If this contact fails to change states after a valid schedule is
initiated, the control will generate a ISO-CNTR OFF WHEN
NEEDED fault condition.
If this contact fails to return to its original state after the
contactor is turned off (including the Isolation Contactor
Delay), the control will generate an ISO-CNTR ERR BKR
TRIPPED fault condition. It will also de-energize the NO
FAULT output and trip the circuit breaker.
THERMAL SWITCH Input
This input to the weld processor indicates that the weld
enclosure has reached an over-temperature condition.
If this input is not active when the control receives the signal
to initiate a weld, the weld processor completes the schedule
in No Weld, generates a SYSTEM COOLING fault and de-
energizes the NO FAULT output (to indicate an active fault
condition).
DUAL CONTACTOR Input
This input enables a tri-pack system to run as a dual-pack
(only two active weld processors). If this input is jumpered
HIGH, the PLC will not export data to the third weld
processor in the chassis. This lets you disable or remove the
third weld processor card from the chassis.
(When this input is LOW, the third weld processor is enabled
and cannot be removed from the chassis.)
