8.7 Chuck adjustment and inserting a drill bit (See Fig. F)
1. To open the chuck jaws, rotate the front section of the chuck (1) in an
anti clockwise direction as shown in Fig F. Do this sufficiently enough to
allow the drill / driver bit to enter the jaws of the chuck (1).
2. Ensure the drill / driver bit is fully inserted, so that the chuck jaws
grip the straight section of the bit. Rotate the chuck (1) in a clockwise
direction until the jaws tighten on the drill / driver bit. The collar of the chuck
needs to be tightened firmly to ensure the drill/driver bit is held securely.
8.8 Torque adjustment ring / setting (See Fig. G)
(Screw driving force of the drill / driver)
This drill/driver is equipped with 21 torque se 1 x drill setting.
The torque is adjusted by rotating the torque adjustment ring (2). The torque
is greater when the torque adjustment ring (2) is set on a higher setting. The
torque is less when the torque adjustment ring (2) is set on a lower setting.
The required torque setting / number on the torque adjustment ring
needs to align with the triangle located in front of the torque adjustment
ring (2) for that setting to be used.
Make the setting as follows:
1 - 4 for driving small screws
5 - 9 for driving screws into soft material
10 - 14 for driving screws into soft and hard material
15 - 19 for driving screws into hard wood
20 - 21 for driving larger screws
for heavy drilling
