Miter.Slot.to.Blade.
Parallelism
Your table saw will give the best results if the miter slot
and the rip fence are adjusted parallel to the blade. If
either of these are not exactly parallel, your cuts and
your finished work will be lower in quality, but more
importantly, the risk of kickback will be increased.

To.adjust.blade.parallel.to.miter.slot,.do.these.steps:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Tilt blade to 0°, then use an adjustable square to
measure distance from miter slot to a carbide tip on
blade, as shown in
Figure
106
. Make sure that face
of adjustable square is even along miter slot.

3.
With end of adjustable square just touching tip,
lock square in place. Now, mark carbide tip with a
marker where you made this measurement.
4.
Rotate marked blade tip to other end of table insert.
5.
Slide adjustable square down to other end of table
insert and compare distance from marked blade tip
to end of adjustable square, as shown in
Figure.107
.
— If blade tip measurement
is
equal on both sides,
go to
Step.8
.

If blade tip
does not
touch end of adjustable
square similar to first measurement, table will
need to be adjusted. Proceed to
Step.6
