SECTION 7 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
7.1 Sawing Problems
WARNING!
Turn the key switch to the OFF (0) position and remove
the key before performing service near moving parts such as blades,
pulleys, motors, belts, and chains. If the key is turned on and moving
parts activated, serious injury or death may result.

SOLUTION
Blades Dull Quickly
Dirty logs
Clean or debark logs, especially on
entry side of the cut
When grinding teeth, heating
too much and causing teeth to
soften
Grind just enough metal to restore
sharpness to the teeth. Use
water/coolant while sharpening

Poor sharpening techniques
Make sure the tip is being sharpened
completely: Read the instructions
with your blade sharpening equip

Stress in log which causes log
to not lay flat on the bed.
After log has been squared, take
equal cuts off opposing sides. Take a
board off the top. Turn the log 180
degrees. Take a board off. Repeat,
keeping the heart in the middle of the
cant, and making it your last cut.
Set in teeth.
Resharpen and reset blade.
Bed rails misaligned.
Realign sawmill bed.
