Servicing and maintenance
These maintenance instructions are intended to answer questions on care and maintenance
in a clearly laid out form.
If servicing is not performed correctly, the guarantee is void for damage to the product caused by
incorrect maintenance.
In this case there is also no liability for damage caused by the product.
Important note to the service life of your device:
Our devices are mostly free of maintenance. But even if you ensure regular maintenance
and care, some of the built-in components will reach the end of their operational life (e.g.
elastomer parts). Therefore, after 10 years our devices reach the end of their service life,
under bad conditions earlier. We strongly recommend to send in your device to WITT Ser-
vice for checking and control at least 8 weeks before this time period has expired.
Witt Gasetechnik then also will check, if your device does met actual technical needs (state
of the art).
In cooperation with you we can actualise your device to the state of the art.
Any provided manuals from component manufacturers have to be regarded too, especially
maintenance or replacement intervals.
Maintenance intervals depend very much on individual operating conditions. The intervals
shall be considered as starting values which should be shortened or extended as appropri-
ate.
7.1
Safety instructions for servicing and maintenance
Caution!
The gas mixer may only be opened by authorised, trained personnel.
Caution!
During all maintenance- and repair work the applicable national health and safety
regulations are to be observed and appropriate safety equipment worn.
Caution!
During all maintenance- and repair tasks ensure that the gas mixer is isolated from mains
electricity (also observe external voltage, e.g. via floating contacts) and is de-pressurised.
Electrical components may be hot.
Caution!
Prior to initial commissioning and after changes, repair, or expansion of a system / unit, the
connections and joints are to be checked for leaks to atmosphere with inert gas (document
this check). For this process only use suitable leak testing procedures (never test with a na-
ked flame). If you find leaks, rectify them immediately; the applicable safety regulations are
to be observed during this process.
If the leaks cannot be rectified, the unit must be taken out of operation without delay. Please
send the unit with a short description of the fault to us or a centre authorised by us.
The gas mixer may only be placed back in operation after it has been checked and repaired
by us or an authorised centre.
Caution!
We recommend connecting the unit to an analyser at regular intervals to monitor the
concentration of the mixed gas.
7.2
Repair instructions
Repairs are only to be performed after prior consultation with the manufacturer.
In the case of repairs, modifications or conversions that have not been authorised by the manufac-
turer in advance, the guarantee is void in its entirety.
WITT-GASETECHNIK GmbH & Co KG is not liable for damages arising from failure to observe the
instructions given above.
