Manual MODBUS Mapping for Input Status and Input Register
For a detailed overview of the relationship between the configuration options in the DTM or web
interface and the data in the WirelessHART gateway, see Figure 5.19 on page 63.
The
Input Status
submenu enables you to map discrete variables on the MODBUS input
registers.
The
Input Register
submenu enables you to map HART variables and device-specific status
information on the MODBUS input registers.
In both submenus, you have the following options:
■
You can create the mapping table manually.
For more information, see the subsection Create MODBUS Mapping Manually.
■
You can create the mapping table semi-automatically, which means that the mapping
table is generated automatically according to your specifications.
For more information, see the subsection Create MODBUS Mapping Semi-Automatically.
Create MODBUS Mapping Manually
The
Table
tab enables you to create or edit the MODBUS mapping table manually.

Note!
Manual or semi-automatic creation of the mapping table for the MODBUS input registers is
available only if the
Addressing Method
under
Engineering > Modbus Mapping > Modbus
Settings
is set to
Manual
. See chapter
The
Instrument List
must be available before you create the mapping table, because the
values for the mapping table are retrieved from the
Instrument List
