Unpack your new SmartLook™
Home Energy Monitor. This package
also includes 1 power adapter.
Plug the power adapter into the USB
connector on the bottom of the
SmartLook™
Home Energy Monitor, and then plug into a
power outlet.
Place the SmartLook™ Home
Energy Monitor in a convenient
location for example on your
Refrigerator.
It may take up to 15 minutes for
the SmartLook™ Home Energy
Monitor to receive its first “read”
from your Smart Meter.
GETTING STARTED TIPS
ESTABLISH AN ENERGY BASELINE
By turning off and unplugging all electrical devices (lights,
A/C, appliances), you can establish a “ baseline” of electricity
usage. Make note of your baseline energy rate shown on your
SmartLook™ home energy Monitor. As you turn devices back
on, you can view the incremental electricity each device uses.
ALLEVIATE UNEXPECTED HIGH BILL AMOUNTS
Refer often to the “Home” and “Cost” screens to keep track of
your estimated energy cost and usage. If your costs begin to
rise unexpectedly, compare your current usage with your
baseline or last week’s usage and determine if any
unnecessary electricity is being used.
REVIEW BEFORE LEAVING HOME
Review the SmartLook™ home energy Monitor prior to leaving
the house. If the electricity usage is higher than your baseline,
you’ll know additional items were left on.
