SECTION 10 –
SLIDEOUT ROOMS AND LEVELING
Hydraulic Fluid Recommendation
Universal multipurpose hydraulic oil is
recommended. In an emergency Dexron
automatic transmission fluid can be used.
DO NOT USE brake fluid or hydraulic jack
fluid. Use of these can damage seals.
NOTE: Dexron automatic transmission fluid
contains red dye that can cause stains should a
leak occur.
GENERAL SLIDEOUT CARE
•
Wipe outer seals occasionally with talc or 303
brand protectant for smooth quiet operation.
•
Clean the floors inside before retracting the
room to avoid vinyl flooring scratches or
carpet pile snags.
•
See your authorized dealer for regular
maintenance and service of the slideout
mechanism.
LEVELING SYSTEM
The leveling system makes selecting a parking
site easier and faster by reducing the effect of
uneven ground.
Hydraulic jacks raise the affected low corners
of the coach to make leveling “set up” faster and
easier for you.
The leveling system control panel is located
on the tip-out panel at the lower right side of the
dash.
See the Leveling System Operator Manual
in your InfoCase for complete operating
instructions.
It also contains additional
precautions, technical information, and
instructions for manual operation if a system
failure occurs.
NOTE:When parking at an uneven site, always
park the front of the motor home to the
downhill side. This allows you to level by
raising the front end rather than the rear.
Since only the rear wheels are
locked
while in PARK, raising either one or both
of the rear wheels off the ground could
allow the vehicle to roll off the jacks.
WARNING
Never check for hydraulic fluid leaks
using your hands and/or any other body
part. The leaking fluid is under pressure
and is capable of cutting and penetrating
your skin, resulting in severe injury.
