SECTION 10 –
SLIDEOUT ROOMS AND LEVELING
10-4
•
Press the Slideout Room ‘RETRACT/IN’
switch and hold until the room is fully
retracted– then release the switch.
NOTE:If your model is equipped with electric
slideout locks and the room will not
retract, check to be sure the locks are
fully released. Press the ‘unlock’ side of
the switch for a few seconds, then try
retracting again.
•
To stop retracting the room anytime during
operation, release the button.
•
After the room is fully retracted, deactivate
the slideout switch with the Safety Lock key,
then engage Slideout Locks–if equipped.
(See
information at the beginning of this section.
)
Note:Visually confirm that the slideout lock has
engaged by observing the room from
outside of the coach and noting whether
the top of the room is being held tightly
against the sidewall of the coach.
SLIDEOUT ROOM – EXTREME
WEATHER PRECAUTION
Certain extreme weather conditions, such as
heavy rains, heavy snow, and high winds, or any
combination of these, could cause damage to the
slideout room cover-awning (if equipped) or
reduce effectiveness of the slideout room weather
seals.
Also, freezing rain and snow can prevent the
slideout cover-awning (if equipped) from closing
and may cause damage to the cover-awning,
slideout room, weather seals and mechanisms.
To avoid potential damage, we recommend
retracting your slideout room during extreme
weather conditions.
SLIDEOUT ROOM
TROUBLESHOOTING –
HYDRAULIC
If Slideout Room Will Not Operate
•
The chassis battery may be low on charge.
The engine should be running while extending
or retracting slideout rooms so the engine
alternator can provide maximum power to
properly operate the slideout mechanisms.
If battery charge is sufficient, go to next step.
•
A fuse may be blown in the hydraulic system
control box on the pump, which can be viewed
from beneath the chassis near the left or right
front wheel. See following photo.
See the Leveling System/Room Extension
Operator’s Manual in your InfoCase for
control box fuse replacement information.
If no fuses are blown, go to the next step.
CAUTION
Do not hold a slideout control switch in the
“extend” or “retract” position for a time
period longer than necessary to fully
extend or retract the room. This can
overheat and damage the pump or
electrical motor as well as other electrical
components.
WARNING
Stop engine, place transmission in
neutral position and apply parking brake
before lying beneath vehicle for this
procedure.
