1. General
The seat sealing face in the cylinder cover must be clean and undamaged as the
sealing is metallic.
If any blow-by of combustion gases have been noticed during engine operation,
the spring packets with their screws of the injection valve are not, under any cir-
cumstances, to be tightened further as a counter measure.
2. Machining of sealing face
Dirty or slightly damaged sealing faces can be re-conditioned on the spot by using
overhauling device 94270 or 94270f for injection valve with F uel A ctuated S acless
T echnology (FAST).
⇒ Carefully insert profile cutter 5 into the hole in cylinder cover 1.
⇒ Fasten guide flange 3 with screws 4.
⇒
When the device is being used, the centring mandril on the profile cutter on the
one hand and the guide flange on the other, give the device the necessary
stability and direction.
⇒ Cutting is done by pressing down lightly with the hand on cutter holder 2 and
turning the hexagon evenly with the other hand using a ring spanner.
⇒ Remove as little material as possible but sufficient to obtain a perfect seating
area.
D Putting some sticky grease on the profiling cutter will prevent any foreign
matter from entering the combustion chamber during overhaul.
D Two tapped holes in guide flange 3 are for the depository of screws 4.
