8 Commissioning
CAUTION!
When commissioning, the Installation and operating instructions of the
pumps connected to the interface converters must be observed.
NOTE: the commissioning process is described for a DigiCon with 2xDigiCon-A
and pump(s). If several DigiCons are present, proceed accordingly.
• Switch on the mains voltage to the pump(s),
• Switch on the DigiCon supply voltage,
• The “Pump Communication” signal lamp(s) (Fig. 1, item 2) must light up green
after approx. 12 s. Check on the pump display whether the automatic commu-
nication build-up between pump(s) and DigiCon via the PLR interface has taken
place: The communication symbol “double arrow” must be visible on the pump
display.
If there is no signal of the RS 485 interface at DigiCon, the mode and setpoint
can be set locally at the DigiCon for each pump connected:
• Set the required control mode at the “mode” switch (Fig. 1, item 14),
• Set the required setpoint at the “setpoint” knob (Fig. 1, item 15),
• The settings are sent to the connected pump by pressing the button (Fig. 1,
item 16). The preceding steps can be repeated with different settings for each
pump connected to the DigiCon.
If mode and setpoint are specified via the RS 485 interface or if data are scanned
by the pump(s), further settings must be made locally at the DigiCon:
• At the DigiCon, set the address according to Tab. 11.
• At the DigiCon, lever off the cover strip of the bottom terminal row with a
screwdriver and set the baud rate according to Tab. 10 (Fig. 6, item 1).
• At the DigiCon that is furthest away from the bus transfer point (Fig. 5, no. 64),
lever off the cover strip of the bottom terminal row with a screwdriver and set
the termination resistances of the RS 485 interface (Fig. 6, item 3).
If the optional DigiCon-A manual operation level is installed, the following
checks/adjustments can be made:
• The function of the control inputs for potential-free control contacts “off”,
“max”, “min” and “on” (Fig. 4, items 1, 2, 3, 4) can be checked by connecting a
wire bridge.
• If the analogue input “0-10V” is occupied, it is released by the “set” switch
(Fig. 2, item 17).
