– Find the white 16 Ω lead from the left channel output transformer. Connect the terminal to
the 16ohm post on the left channel speaker PWB.
– Find the black #22 case ground wire from the left channel output transformer. Connect the
terminal to the available GND post on the left channel PWB.
– Insert the 4-pin Molex socket for the right channel feedback connection in the Conn1
header on the right channel speaker PWB. Use the legend on the PWB as a guide.
– Insert the 4-pin Molex socket for the left channel feedback connection in the Conn1
header on the left channel speaker PWB. Use the legend on the PWB as a guide.
The speaker PWBs have now been completed. Note that no connections are made on either
the right or left channel speaker PWBs for the following terminals: HEAD-1, HEAD-2, or LOAD.
5.5 Final Assembly Check
The 60 W stereo amplifier has now been completed. Make a thorough visual inspection to make
sure everything looks OK. Use the tie-wraps provided to organize and cleanup the wiring. All
parts should be installed, with the exception of the vacuum tubes. If you have any parts left-over,
recheck the procedures documented here and install the part(s) as needed.
Figure 5.11 shows the chassis view of the 60 W stereo amplifier. Various detail views of the
assembled amplifier are shown in Figure 5.12.
Turn the chassis over to remove any debris or loose items laying in the chassis.
Before proceeding to Initial Checkout, it is recommended that builders clean up the
workspace and put away all tools. An occasional “workbench reset” is useful for any project.
