Safety precautions
Complete attention to safety has been given in the design of the device. However, injury or damage is possible if the
device is used incorrectly or if precautions are ignored.
The descriptions related to safety utilize the terms “WARNING” and “CAUTION” to indicate the degree of injury or
damage and the level of danger. “WARNING” is critical instructions to prevent an imminently hazardous situation
that may result in death or serious injury. “CAUTION” is instructions to prevent a potentially hazardous situation
that may result in minor injury or property damage or both.
The WHILL Model C2/Ci2 is a mobility vehicle. Be sure to correctly understand the contents of this manual before
using the device. Persons who find it difficult to use a powered wheelchair should refrain from using the device. Pay
attention to the following precautions when using and handling the device.
The device is designed for use on ordinary paved roads or indoor use.
If this device is being operated by an assistant, the operator must carefully read this manual and fully
understand the precautions before using it.
1. For using the machine
WARNING
If the device shows any abnormal signs, immediately discontinue use, and contact the
distributor or customer support.
Using the device in a less than perfect state can potentially cause an injury or accident.
Before use, check for any improperly assembled, missing or broken components, and check
that the brakes are locked.
There is a risk of injury or accident. If components need to be replaced or repaired, stop using
the device immediately and contact your distributor.
Carefully read the explanations in this manual regarding the battery and charger, and follow
the instructions.
There is a risk of fire or battery explosion when disassembling the battery or charger. Do
not allow flames near the battery or charger, avoid getting the battery and charger wet or
subjecting them to impact (dropping, penetration with nails, or standing on them), etc.
Persons who have an implanted pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other
electrical medical devices on their bodies, must leave a minimum of 8 inches
(20 cm) between themselves and the magnetic connectors.
The magnetic connectors are located at the connection between the seat assembly and rear
drive base. The magnetism of the magnetic connectors may have an adverse effect on electrical
medical devices.
Turn off the device power when not operating.
There is a risk of accidental contact with the control pad that could cause unexpected
movement of the device.
The maximum load weight for this device is 300 lb (approx. 136 kg). It includes both the
occupant and any luggage. Use the device without subjecting it to a load higher than this limit.
There is a risk of damaging the device.
