Transom Shower
Ensure all relevant personnel read the points
listed below before installation and use of the
equipment.
The Compact Transom Shower Mk2 is intended
to be used as a freshwater external shower for
rinsing off salt water and sand. It is designed to
be installed in the transom, cockpit or near the
swim platform of a boat. Use for any other
purpose or with any other liquid is entirely at the
user's risk.
1.Check that there is enough room for the
shower hose to retract safely behind the
mounting surface and for the mixer valve tails to
protrude
2.To give the maximum effective length of
shower hose, the mixer valve unit should be as
close as possible to and preferably close to the
handset unit. Check that when the shower head
is lifted out, the hose will stretch to the required
height and distance.
3.Check there is enough room to plumb the
units in and the plumbing is accessible.
1.Select a suitable flat location and cut out a
circular hole diameter 82 mm (3¼").
2.Rotate the lid attached to the holder so the
screw holes align and the lid opens vertically up.
3.Position the housing in the hole and use as a
template to mark the position of the 3 fixing
screw holes.
4.Drill 3 x 2.8 mm holes.
5.Secure the holder with the lid attached using
the 3 screws provided. Ensure they are
screwed in flush with the holder flange.
As it is possible for a small amount of water to
trickle along the shower hose when in operation,
check that there is no possibility of drips
damaging electrical equipment, furnishings or
contents of locker.
1.Locate the existing water system pipework
and plumb appropriate supply into tap control
unit.
2.Note position of attachment of Hot/Cold water
inputs and Mixed water outputs (See
diagram overleaf))
3.Attach free end of handset hose securely to
the outlet of the valve unit by suitable method.
(See diagram overleaf)
4.Ensure all connections are water tight. Note
'O' ring and washers included with fittings; do
not use plumbing tape (PTFE) on joints.
Safety
1.Open lid by gripping on external tabs and
pulling outwards until it locks into upright
position.
2.The shower handset is extracted by grasping
it and pulling it out of holder.
3.Set temperature carefully ensuring the valve
is at cold only (fully turned to the right) and
gradually increase the warm water input until
desired temperature is reached.
4.After use ensure valve is in the fully closed (off
position) and replace the handset in the holder.
Push to locate firmly.
5.Close lid carefully into the down position. The
lid is spring closed and will snap shut. Take care
to ensure fingers are not on the inside of the lid
at this point.
