3.7. CONNECT THE AUGER TUBE TO THE FRAME

1. Attach the lift assist bracket (15) to the track shoe. Use a short spacer

bushing (4) and flat washer on both sides of the lift assist bracket, and fasten
with a 1” x 10” bolt (8) and locknut (7).

Tighten securely

2. Raise the discharge end of auger (e.g. with a front end loader and a strong

sling or with a chain or block and tackle). The height should be sufficient to
clear the undercarriage assembly.

3. Place

undercarriage beneath tube assembly.

4. Position stabilizer brackets (1) (see Figure 3.23) and attach lower reach arms

to the tube back-arm bracket: use a long spacer bushing (6), a flat washer
(3), and a 1” x 4-1/2” (18) bolt and locknut (7) on each side.

5. Fasten stabilizer brackets to the first set of holes (furthest from intake) on

stabilizer brackets with one 5/8” x 2-1/4” bolt (9) and locknut (10). Place one



5/8” x 1-1/2” (17) bolt and locknut (10) in other hole of the stabilizer bracket.

6. Fasten the upper lift arms (11) to the lower reach arms: use a medium spacer

bushing (5), a 1” flat washer (3), and a 1” x 3-1/2” bolt (2) and locknut (7) on
each side.

Tighten securely

7. Attach the tubing cross braces (12) between the upper lift arms by loosely

attaching the tubing cross braces using five 1/2” x 1-1/4” bolts and locknuts
(14).

Note:

Use a ratchet strap to hold the lift assist in place during assembly of the frame.

8. Attach upper lift arms to the lift assist bracket. Use two 1” flat washers (3), a



1” x 12” bolt (16), and a 1” locknut (7) as shown in the diagram.

Tighten

securely

9. Lower upper end of auger slowly until track shoe rests against upper track

stop and the lift assist stops rest against track.

WARNING

Do not remove tube support until the
assembly in this section has been completed.
