Use
Assembling the Winch
Attach the winch to a solid surface. Keep in mind that there must be enough
space to turn the crank.
We recommend using at least three M10 screws or bolts to secure the winch.
Tighten and secure bolts and nuts according to the recommendations of the
manufacturer. Use only wall anchors and screws which can bear all involved
loads.
Attach the crank to the drive shaft. Slide the crank and the securing piece over
the shaft and secure both with the self-securing nut. Tighten the hand with a
spanner hand-tight.
Operation
Please keep in mind that the winch is not suitable for lifting loads!
Do not use the winch to move loads which may drop or roll.
To extend the cable, set the toggle switch (3) to the middle position. You can now
pull as much cable as needed from the winch. Keep in mind that the crank will
turn with the drum. At least three turns of cable must remain on the drum. Attach
the hook to the load. Use suitable means of lashing and make sure that all
equipment, the hook, the steel cable and the winch are in good condition and free
from damage. Now set the toggle switch to the top position. By turning the crank
clockwise, you can now pull the load towards the winch. The catch on the toggle
switch prevents uncontrolled extension of the cable.
To extend the cable in a controlled manner, e.g. to lower a vehicle or a boat from
a trailer, set the toggle switch to the lower position. Hold the crank tightly and turn
counter clockwise.
Keep in mind that the winch is not secured in any way at this moment!
If the cable is under load now, it will rapidly run out of the winch and the
crank will spin violently!
Therefore do not manipulate the toggle switch under load!
