Warning: There is no lock or warning indication that the Storage Node is about
to come free from the rack. Use extreme caution.
6. Grasp the Storage Node and pull it out of the rack using even pressure.
7. Record the serial number for return purposes. The serial number and part number are located on a
pull-out tab located to the right of the SSD drive.
3.3.4.2 Installing a Storage Node
To install the replacement Storage Node:
1. Slide the Storage Node into the rack until it stops.
2. Tighten the thumb screws on the front of the Storage Node.
3. Replace the 2.5 inch drives. For more information, refer to
Installing a 2.5 inch drive
on page 52.
4. Replace the 3.5 inch drives. For more information, refer to
Installing a 3.5 inch drive
on page 50.
5. Reconnect all of the cables in the original configuration. For more information, refer to
Cabling map
on page 66.
6. Power on the Storage Node using the power button on the front panel.
7. If Western Digital Corporation support is not onsite, contact customer support for the final post-
replacement procedures for bringing the Storage Node online.
