Standby Handshaking
Standby Handshaking can be used when all UART signal lines are connected between
the Host and Wireless CPU®. This method cannot be used by embedded applications.
When enabled, the Host and Wireless CPU® use modem control lines in addition to
receive and transmit to coordinate wake and sleep.

Description
UART 1 is the primary communications port between the Host application and the
Wireless CPU®. The UART is compliant with NS 16C750, and may be used in
conjunction with the additional flow control signals.
The UART1 interface supports baud rates up to 115.2kbaud (for standard PC) to a
maximum 460.8kbaud. It supports autobauding for AT commands.
The UART 1 interface available on the GR/GS64 products has been extended using a
proprietary method to allow a special mechanism for enabling sleep (low power mode)
initiated by either the Host application of the Wireless CPU®, primarily to conserve
power when communication between the products is not necessary.
The GS/GR64 product possesses a second UART, which implements a subset of the
above signals. However, all references to UART signals in this document are related
to UART 1 only since this is the only UART through which the sleep protocol can be
